Optimization of material formulation and process parameters in canna edulis starch-based biofoam synthesis

Abstract Development of starch based Biofoam rapidly progressed as a solution for minimizing pollution and environmental sustainability. Material formulation process parameters synthesis were key factors related to the quality products. Canna edulis rice straw powder used synthesis. The aim study was obtain optimal materials processes in 5 variations with molding temperature variation 150 – 170°C using Manual Thermo-pressing tool. synthesized P3T3 treatment showed most results density 0.4 gr/cm 3 , tensile strength 2.68 MPa, water absorption capacity 16.41%, biodegradability 60.08%. has no significant effect on product due adjustment printing time used. higher temperature, shorter duration. Scanning Electron Microscopy test heterogeneous porosity sizes, therefore mechanical not uniform surface material. It known that average diameter is range 0.106 0.117 mm by ImageJ.
